A couple more mini watercolors for the Tiny Worlds Challenge hosted by @ruthwilshaw over on Instagram

Added watercolor to the Liberty of London inspired background behind a Jenny Packham Fall 21 dress

Prepping the backgrounds for ruthwilshaw’s tiny world challenge over on Instagram.

Practicing night skies with a ruthwilshaw tutorial. Used lunar blue watercolor with white gouache.

Followed along to a ruthwilshaw tutorial to make this series of stormy skies.

Drawing based on National Park Service’s photo of Great Basin National Park, Nevada

This is the result of a watercolor tutorial I followed from that.crazy.doodler on YouTube. Some good practice building up layers to give the painting some depth.

I tried a technique where you first outline in water and then add the color. The color runs through the water already on the paper and I like the effect. Going to practice this more.

Still practicing with watercolors. Here are some paintings inspired from watercolor tutorials by artbyemilymay over on Instagram.

For each of the weeks in July an art challenge on Instagram was to create 5 mini paintings for 5 days each week. This week’s theme is plants. I draw flowers all the time but I don’t paint them much so this was a good chance to do that.

Also this is the end of World Watercolor Month. Every year I have a new sketchbook for it and it’s a nice way to see my progression as I keep on playing with watercolors.
